Assembly happens at the warehouse, packing line or fulfilment centre. Most automated filling machines (tube fillers, sachet lines, blister machines) require flat-packed blanks.
Rigid set-up boxes, rigid drawer boxes and pre-glued mailer boxes ship assembled. 1,000 assembled rigid boxes (20×15×10 cm) occupy 3–4 CBM — roughly 5–8× more space than the equivalent flat-pack. This translates directly to higher sea or air freight cost. However, no assembly labour is required at destination.

Retail shelf-ready packaging (SRP) typically requires flat-packed blanks because the retailer erects them on arrival. Pre-assembled packaging is incompatible with most SRP requirements. Confirm your retailer's specification before choosing packaging type.
