Macaron box with a 10-cavity divider insert, produced in our factory.
Custom macaron boxes and cookie boxes for patisseries, bakeries, cafes and gifting brands: a printed folding box with a divider insert that keeps each macaron upright and in its own cavity, so the colours line up the way you planned and the shells are not knocked against each other in the bag. We produce these boxes in our own factory, and this page focuses on small-piece bakery gift boxes with dividers. For donut, cupcake and cake boxes see bakery and donut packaging, for rigid chocolate boxes with cavity trays see custom chocolate boxes with inserts, and for printed paperboard cartons in general see custom folding cartons.
This comparison explains common choices for a macaron packaging box with insert. The structure, insert, board and finishes for your order are confirmed in the quotation and on physical samples.
| Folding box with hinged lid | A one-piece printed paperboard box that ships flat and folds up with an attached lid, as in the photos on this page. Light, economical and printable inside and out. |
|---|---|
| Tuck-end or sleeve box | A slim box that opens at the end, or a tray that slides into a printed sleeve. Suits a single row of macarons or a short stack of cookies and presents well on a shelf. |
| Two-piece lid and base | A separate lid over a base, in folding board or rigid board. Gives a more formal gift feel for larger assortments; rigid versions are covered on the chocolate box page. |
| Divider insert layout | Macarons usually sit in one or two rows of matched cavities; the photos show two rows of five. Cookies may need wider sections or a plain tray. Cavity size is set from your finished pieces; see the insert and inner tray guide. |
| Insert material | Market options include die-cut paperboard dividers, clear or coloured plastic trays and molded pulp trays. Look, rigidity, cost and food-contact documents differ and are confirmed in the quotation. |
| Window or clear lid | A die-cut window with or without a film patch, or a full clear lid, shows the colours without opening the box. Compare them in the window patch vs open window guide. |
| Board, coating and print | Folding boxes use paperboard grades such as SBS, C1S or kraft, with optional coating or lamination; see the paperboard guide. Full-colour gradients, inside-lid printing, foil or a sticker seal are possible finishes. |
| Inner bag or wrap | Some bakeries ask for a sealed inner bag or wrap around the insert. Whether this is needed, and the material, are discussed and confirmed in the quotation. |

Closed printed macaron boxes with a gradient design, produced in our factory.
Small boxes for 1, 2 or 3 pieces work as favours and samplers, while 6, 10, 12 and 24 pieces are typical for retail and gift boxes. The photos on this page show a 10-cavity layout in two rows. The right count depends on your macaron diameter and height and the price point, so send the size of a finished shell and the cavities are set from it and checked on a sample.
A macaron box usually holds round pieces standing on edge or lying flat in a row, so the insert has narrow, matched cavities. A custom cookie box often holds flatter pieces stacked or laid in sections, so the divider can be wider or replaced by a simple tray. The same folding box structure can be adapted for both once the piece size and count are known.
Yes. A window in the lid, with or without a clear film patch, lets customers see the colours of the macarons without opening the box. A full clear lid is another market option. Window size, position and film are confirmed in the quotation; the trade-offs are explained in our guide to window patch and open window boxes.
The boxes in our photos use a paperboard divider insert. Other market options include clear or coloured plastic trays and molded pulp trays. The insert material, board grade, coating and any food-contact documents you need are confirmed in the quotation against the actual material and your target market.
The MOQ is 500 PCS. Box style, insert, window, printing, sampling time and lead time are confirmed in the quotation for your specification.
