AI-generated printed-product concept, not an actual product photograph or customer case. Sample branding is illustrative; materials, construction and availability require confirmation.
Printed product catalogs for manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors and retail brands that need to show a product range to buyers: wholesale catalogs, dealer catalogs, trade show catalogs, seasonal collections and lookbooks. Catalog and catalogue are the same product and are covered on this one page; a short catalog of a few pages is often called a brochure and follows the same specification. Unlike a book, a catalog is a sales tool: it is photo-led, organized by product code and replaced by a new edition when the range changes. For long-form titles see custom book printing; for documents that ship inside a product box see custom manual printing. Binding methods are compared in the book, catalog and manual binding guide.
This comparison explains options commonly used in the market; it is not a list of what is fixed for your order. Paper, binding, finish and the final specification for your order are confirmed in the quotation and on samples.
| Saddle stitch | Folded sheets stapled through the spine fold. Common for thinner catalogs; opens nearly flat, which suits two-page product spreads. The page count must be a multiple of four. |
|---|---|
| Perfect binding | Pages glued into a square spine that can carry the catalog title and edition. Suits thicker catalogs; images and text need a wider inner margin because the pages do not open fully flat. |
| Lay-flat and loose-leaf | Wire-o binding lets price lists and reference catalogs lie flat on a desk. If pages must be replaced individually, a ring binder is a better fit; see our PP ring binder folders. |
| SKU-dense layouts | Many small photos, product codes, dimensions and prices on one page. Small type and fine lines should be checked at actual size on a proof, and product codes kept as live text so they can be corrected. |
| Photo color | Buyers judge a product by its catalog photo, so color matters more than in most printed matter. Send a physical sample or color reference for key products; see color management for printing. |
| Versions and editions | Language versions, regional price lists and seasonal updates are separate versions with their own proofs and quantities. A version code on the cover or back page keeps them apart in packing. |
A complete RFQ lets us quote the item you actually intend to buy. Items marked "confirmed in quotation" are not fixed on this page.

Count every printed page side. If the cover is printed on the same paper as the inside pages (a self-cover), the cover pages are part of the total. If the cover uses heavier stock, count cover and inside pages separately, for example 4 cover pages plus 48 inside pages. Saddle-stitched catalogs need a total that is a multiple of four.
Saddle stitch suits thinner catalogs and opens nearly flat, which helps two-page product spreads. Perfect binding gives a square spine that can carry the title and edition and suits thicker catalogs, but needs a wider inner margin. The page count usually decides, and the binding for your order is confirmed in the quotation.
Supply each image at full resolution, named with its product code, and place final images in the layout rather than screenshots. Keep product codes and prices as live text, not inside images, so they can be corrected late. Where color matters, send a physical product or color reference so the proof can be checked against it.
Each language is a separate version with its own proof, because text length changes line breaks and page fit. Mark every version with a version code, give the quantity per version, and approve each proof separately before printing.
